Question: Do different kinds of pasta have different smells when cooking?

This may be a dumb question but I ask because when I cook different kinds of pasta the smell varies.

If you're boiling the pasta, it shouldn't have much of a smell at all... it's pretty much egg and flour. If you're cooking fresh pasta, you may notice more of an egg smell, or if you're cooking pasta that has been made with spinach or something like that.
